It's been a whole year, wow!

I realized that it has been a whole year since I posted on my blog. Sheesh and it's not like I haven't been busy, I mean this Mexican Marta Stewart stays pretty crafty.  I am a social network geek so you'd think blogging would be right up my alley but apparently not. Well let's see if I can post a few photos of what I've been up to lately.

Well this is a wrap I made for the cruise Ed and I took just before Christmas. It kept me quite warm during my strolls on the ship. And of course it is in my favorite color-----Red.

I needed something quick and easy for our last camping trip to the beach and her is one of my traditional Easy Peasy Beanies. I love this pattern.

And this was a test knit that I did for my heart-sister Meggie. It is a kid's shawl and oh boy was it a doozy, But I think the final project is well worth all the effort.

A new Journey Begins

Well the lovely Meggie has done it again.  She turned me into a proficient sock knitter including mini's with color work. Now she has me making cables.

So now begins a 12-month journey to knit a cape that tells her story of love . Love of her family, life, Country, tradition. All the things that are important to me.  I can't tell my story through design like she can so I will help tell her story.

I almost chose not to take this journey but things just fell together. The yarn was the right place, the test knit was easier then I thought it would be and things just fell into place. So here we go.  A new Journey in the year 2011.

Stash Busting Project 2011

Well I've decided I need to get rid of some of my yarn stash (so I can make room for more of course) I have these 2 patterns for a pair of slipper sox and a quick and easy beannie that I think will help me get rid of some of this yarn and let me get crazy with colors.  I can make one set in a good, non stressfull and non busy weekend.

Here is what I finished the last weekend of December, but I need to start January. The goal is to make at least one set a month for the entire year!

Happy New Year!

Well here we go into the year 2011.  It has been a great year of knitting, new friends and a new puppy for the man-child.  I don't make resolutions but I do have a couple of goals I want to achieve next year.  Exercise more, spend more time with my mom and get my Christmas knitting started much earlier. But mainly to enjoy life one day at a time.

Summer is Finally here!

I haven't blogged in awhile. Well not here at least. Been pretty busy on my alter-ego site.  But Summer is finally here. I continue with my knitting and creativity through Ravelry. I have lots of photos of projects, swap packages sent and received. I need to post a link to my Flickr page so you can see all my creations.  But on Saturday, Ed and Andy were both gone and  I spent the day in Nana's Garden knitting and listening to music and enjoying some "me" time.

So much creativity going on right now

Oh man, so much has been going on right now. I have been a knitting fool and have finally mastered socks.  Well not fancy socks, but socks nonetheless. Also, I am in a new group on Ravelry, have met a great family and Meggie, the baby sister and my new sister is designing mini-socks!  They are so cute and I have test knit several of them. She will be selling them for charity and I am so proud of her drive to help people and proud to be part of the endeavour. Will post photos soon.

Amigurumi fun

Today this wonderful package arrived in the mail as part of my Amigurumi Swap through Ravelry. It came from Christelle in France. She included two Amigurumi that she made (and I believe designed) herself. Some yummy purple yarn that I cannot wait to use and some gummy candy that I have almost finished already. It was my first international package and quite special. I love participating in these yarn swaps and this lovely package from France was very special.
